TQUK Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work 6-hour

TQUK Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

The Emergency First Aid at Work course (EFAW) is ideal for most businesses whose risk assessment has identified that there is no requirement for a fully trained first aider for their workplace.

This accredited qualification is ideal for those already working or preparing to work within industry wishing to become an Emergency First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (NI) 1982.

The recommended course duration is 1 day and topics covered include: the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider, assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness and assisting a casualty who is suffering from injury and illness. The qualification is assessed via on-going oral and/or written questioning and practical demonstration.

The minimum contact hours for this qualification, excluding breaks should be for a minimum period of 6 hours over 1 day.

All successful students will be issued with a Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their achievement. The HSE dictate, that to be valid in the workplace, learners must retake the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification before the expiry of 3 years from the date that the original qualification was achieved. The HSE state that the full Emergency First Aid at Work qualification must be taken again to be valid in the workplace.

This course must be delivered as a 100% classroom course and cannot be delivered via online or blended training to comply with the HSE requirements. Candidates completing our EFAW courses receive access to our video library for refreshing skills and reference.

This course gives learners the opportunity to gain a formally recognised regulated qualification. If you require funding, a regulated qualification is often required. Phone us and we can advise if needed. If you choose our course leading to a regulated qualification, there are additional assessment criteria to be undertaken with an instructor and a small extra certification charge.
